Piano lesson fees vary quite a bit depending on the teacher, their qualifications, the lesson length, and the setting. A teacher with a music degree, years of experience specifically with children, and a proven track record will typically charge more than someone just starting out.

That difference in price usually corresponds to a real difference in outcomes — particularly in whether a child stays motivated and keeps going past the first few months.

Lesson length also affects cost. Most young beginners start with 30-minute lessons. As children advance, 45 or 60-minute sessions become more appropriate — longer lessons cost more per session but give more time to go deeper into technique and repertoire.
